I do agree with all except the travel time from Pathankot to Dalhousie. Max 2 1/2 hours. Road is good. No fun in going to Jammu unless you plan to visit Mata Vaishno Devi.
By air till Delhi, train to Pathankot is best,
Or go by air to Amritsar & further journey by road.

Take a train from Mumbai to Patahankoat (there are many trains) and take a bus or taxi from there to Dalhousie. The route is via Nurpur, Laharu and Banikhet. The distance is about 90 kms and the road condition is fairly good between Pathankoat and Dalhousie.

Hi Sagar ...

I had traveled to Dollhousie from Nagpur for my honeymoon and we took a train to delhi . spent a day in delhi and then took a night train from delhi to pathankot .. any jammu bound train will stop at Pathnkot/chakki bank (both are same).. I can suggest u 2 options from Mumbai

1. Mumbai - delhi train ( radhani or august kranti), spend a day in delhi doing some sight seeing, Another train from delhi to pathankot, there are many train on this route and then take a car from pathankot to dalhousie

2. Fly from Mumbai to delhi, some flight which reaches there by afternoon and then catch a night train to pathankot, I am not sure if pathankot has airport, it might have since its a big army base. Just chk i

Dalhousie is aI 3 1/2 hour drive (80 Kms)from Pathankot. I am not sure if there are any direct flights to Pathankot from Mumbai although there might be from Delhi. So best option is to travel by train from Mumbai to Pathankot and take a cab/bus from there to Dalhousie. If you do want to save time by taking a flight try Mumbai-Jammu or Mumbai-Amritsar. Both locations are about 200Kms from Dalhousie.
