Badrinath weather in Sept
Hi, need to know weather condition in Badrinath in and around 24-September 2010. Whether it is possible to travel this week?
Answers to travel information on
Badrinath in Uttarakhand
A visit on 24th of September to Badrinath is absolutely ruled out, because of unprecedented rain, flood and landslide. Badrinath route is most landslide prone in whole of Uttaranchal. There is still time, as temple at Badrinath closes around Diwali time. Official website of Garhwal, www.gmvnl.com gives the exact closure date of Badrinath temple, in their home page. Just visit Badrinath a week before that time; that is what I can advise. All the best! Report Abuse
The condition is very bad now....visit in october..it would be okay by that time.Report Abuse
Dear Mr. Murthy,
Just log on to any of the national news site or switch to any of the national News Channels, the condition is really really bad, whole of uttarakhand is worstly hit by rains & flood, there have been landslides, cloud bursts. The highways are closed. people are stranded in the middle. Delhi Haridwar highway is affected because of floods, Rishikesh -Joshimath Highway is in bad condition. & Joshimath - Badrinath is blocked. Though the situation will improve in 3-4 days time but the weather gods are in rocking mood so you dont know, when is next?
It is my sincere advise ,not to travel during this period. Better postpone your visit.
Even I would advise you to check the situation before your next schedule, as the Badrinath shrine is closed from mid october or Mid November because of snowfall.
Best time is 15th May to 1st week of July. Report Abuse
Hi, seems you are not aware of the present situation in the region...due to heavy rains, the route to Badrinath is shut. It is wise to wait till October and then plan according to the weather and road conditions in the region. Report Abuse
