The place well connected by metro is Akshardham Temple. From Karol bagh take the metro to Noida city center.

There is no metro connectivity to the rail museum. You need a cab or auto to reach there.

Dear kuku ji
According to me it is better to go Adventure Island Near RITHALA Metro station(2 min walking distance). In that you may take only four ride ticket or all ride ticket acc to ur intrest.it is the best place in my opinin for ur child to pass 6hrs.don't try to visit all place bcuz u hav less time(u need min 3-4 hrs inside Adv.island)don't forget to keep ur cloth(it hav som water games also.

Mr.Kuku Bhai, Rail Museum is closer to Karol Bagh by an Auto. It should cost Say40-60. Ask for the fare card. Metro station is not close to Rail Museum.Rail Museum itself will take minimum three hours. ie. two and fro and having a joy ride. You may have time to visit india gate, vijay chowk, ie. view Rashtrapati bhawan and click photos. That's all, you will be able to do within the six hours.

In my opinion, visit Akshardham Temple. It would be a nice place to pass the time. There are 3 exbhitions(shows)inside the temple which is good to watch. Also it has a direct connectivity from Karolbagh through Metro(Even u dont need to change metro in between for reaching there). Best of journey

Hi Kuka Bhai

From Karol Bagh, you can go to Akshardham temple and Qutub minar. But keep in mind both the places are on opposite direction and traveling time could be 40-60 mins. As far as Railway museum is concerned, there is no metro station nearby, you either need to take auto or local bus,the nearest metro station will be Udhyog Bhawan (Indiagate), again this place is also not very close to Karol bagh, traveling time could be 40-45 mins. so plan accordingly. Other places are Iskon temple and places around India gate eg. Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament etc. For India gate you can take a metro.

But keep in mind if it's a week day make sure you should avoid business hours (8:30 am - 10:00 am and 5:30 pm to 07:30 PM)otherwise traveling time could double or more and metro or any other mode of transport will be too crowded.

I hope this information may be helpful.

Have a nice trip.

You may visit the airforce museum & Rail museum both.

Just take an auto from Karol bagh come to Airforce museum it takes about 35-40 mins on sunday it will take you just 20-25 mins the museum visit takes around 35-40 mins. then proceed to rail museum you may catch up a bus route no.781 from the airport museum gates & go to Rail Museum it will around 25 mins to reach the rail museum & around 2 hrs for the visit & from there you may catch up an auto to Karol Bagh. For Metro ride i would recommend you take it from Karol Bagh to C.P (Rajeev Chowk ) & Back.

6 hrs is too leass , u cant cover anything by metro and metro doesnt go to all places.
Better take a taxi for 8 hrs . (Rs600-800) and visit these placees from outside .museums etc take a lot of time. visit bila mandir, CP, sansad marg ( see RBI, AIR, Parliament house) go to rajpath -rashtrapati bhavan india gate. then from here go to railways museum in chanakyapuri , and see embassy area also. For metro u can halt at Cannu=agt place( CP) or karol bagh, take a ride from karol bagh to CP or vice versa it covers both elevated and undergroundmetro. u dont have time to see lal quilla and qutub miar etc historical places. On the way in taxi u can ask the driver to show u different stadia also foer common wealth game . Many are in this area only. Akshar dham is another tourist attraction but it takes 3-4 hrs for it. u can see it from outside.Any help u r free to ask me on 9899074871 - dr Vijay Gupta

I didn't realise you arriving on a Monday.
The Museum and all will remain closed. But you can see the fort's. Like Red Fort/Old Fort/Humayun's Tomb. And the Zoo Will be Open. So 'i guess Zoo + Old Fort are Ideal + if some time Left you can also see Humayun tomb, which some believe is more beautiful than the Taj.

If you like to see the real Delhi. Then i suggest you Go to Red Fort + there's a war memorial that is open on Monday's + Jama Masjid and a rickshaw ride through The Chandni Chowk area, famous for Variety of Paranthas in Pranthewali Gali and a extra big Parantha of Fatehpuri also the sweet Rabdi and Lassi. It Sure is a treat.

All the above mentioned can be done in 6 hr's.

Enjoy...

You can take your son to nerly almost 20 min Metro ride and 10 min auto drive to Delhi Zoo (which has small mini buses to show you around fast, normally it takes 3 hrs to see the entire zoo)
Take a metro from Karol Bagh Station and go to Pragati Maidan station. from there auto takes 30Rs. for zoo.
And in the vicinity are 6 museums 10 min away all.
1. National Gallery Of Modern Art.
2. Crafts museum
3. National Science centre
4. National Zoological Park (biggest zoo in Asia)
5. Dolls Museum, at ITO
6. National Museum Of Natural History, FICCI House.
These are all closer by and 1'st one in on India Gate Roundabout.

National Rail Museum is a small museum and you can cover it in 40 Min barely, there is an air force museum also near the airport but then it's lil far and only you see this place.
But if you want to the above mentioned then you can have a better variety. Science Centre is all in one building and interesting place for kids. + also 15 Min from there is dolls museum at ITO.

Dear Travel Kuku,

As rightly stated by CHina 2, If your Delhi arrival / stay is on monday then the Rail Museum is out of question. Otherwise it is better to catch up an auto from Karol Bagh for Chanakya Puri Rail Museum. it will take you max 25 mins max. at any point of time. Karol Bagh to Chanakyapuri 20 mins & Chanakya puri to Railmuseum 5 mins Rail museum vist will be approx- 2 hrs including the joyride on mini train & museum.

Metro ride you can take from Karolbagh to Con place thus enjoying the over & underground travelling. stroll in con place & proceed as per your schedule.

Karol bagh tempts you for shopping but it will take around 3 hrs min, untill you r clear on what to buy. For elctronic toys & gifts Gaffar Market, for Garments Arya Samaj Road.

Monday is a holiday for the Rail Museum. When you engage auto rickshaw at C.Sectt Metro Station ask him to take you via India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan. They are both close to Central Secretatiat Station. Keep abt 3 hrs for Rail Museum, incl time for lunch, museum visit and joy ride on toy train. On return from C.Sectt you cud get off at Rajiv Chowk and roam around CP in half hour. Enjoy

Hi, for a joy ride on metro which may take you about 2 hours, you may board Metro from Karol Bagh station to Indraprastha followed by metro to Noida... you would get a glimpse of Pragati Maidan Indraprastha power plant Akshar Dham Temple, Yamuna and trans Yamuna Delhi in addition to parts of Humayuns tomb from a distance. To see and have a feel of Connaught place, you'll need to disembark at Rajiv Chowk coz the Metro goes under ground from Rajiv Chowk to Mandi House. You can do this on your return trip from Noida. Alternateively, if you don't want to go around CP, to go to Rail museum change metro to one for Central Secretariat after going down a flight stairs to the line below. From Central Secretariat, hire an auto to visit Rail Museum. Return the same way. Chose a holiday for joy rides on metro... on working days avoid office hrs rush. The visit at RM will take you abt 2 hrs. You have fast food stalls within the museum. So plan according. Welcome to Delhi and enjoy your self
