Though this comes in some what late, I just thought of adding some more to what every body els have written here. The route is by n large safe at day time coz you can see all your sorroundings during day time. Most stretches on this route do not have lights and this can mean disaster at night as it unfortunately proved for a group traveling in a Santro during the time I had driven in this stretch. A portion of the road was elevated from its sorroundings and the ditches besides the road was filled with monsoon waters. Though this stretch was pretty straight, some how the Santro had skidded and plunged into one of them. There were casualities I wouldn't like to mention of here. BTW Defensive driving is the key to survival on unknown roads. Good luck every one.

This route is perfectly safe in the day light hours. I wouldn't take a new inside / village road in the night as it is. Things you need to watch out for - if you have tubeless tyres carry a stepnney, if you get a puncture on this route, there is no place to mend. Basic services we folks take for guaranteed on the highway like service stations / petrol pumps etc are not there - this is a genuine short-cut, through the interiors, the road quality is good and it is scenic. drive safe and you have nothing to worry about at all. have a good trip.

Hi Harmeet, the Tanda-Bazpur route is safe at least during the day, I am not sure about the night. A couple of my friends used the route last year.
