You can visit Mysore and Coorg in 3 days. First reach Mysore stay there for one day and leave to explore Coorg for the next 2 days.

I would recommend Badami-Aihole-Pattadkal for two days and you could drive down to Hampi from there. Pattadkal and Hampi are both UNESCO world heritage sites and overwhelmingly beautiful.Worth visiting!

Hi,

If you are travelling with family, then I suggest the following places to just relax:

1 one night stay at " Anandadhama" a resort on kanakapura road about 3/4 hours drive from Bangalore. This is a good place to stay for a day, where there are options like tent/guest house. There are jungle activities and the Kauvery river.

2 The next day you can drive down to Shivanasamudra visit the water falls and the dam and then in the evening visist Talakadu. From there you can proceed to Mysore.

3 If you have already visited Mysore and seen all the major tourist attractions I suggest you to visit "Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta" and return to Bangalore.

Hi Govardhan.. I think u should visit Chickmaglur, Madikeri and Gokarna for a day each. There r plenty of sight seeing areas within a short radius of these places..absolutely breathtaking i promise.

Dear Govardhan,
I suggest you go to Coorg. It would be better if you drive down since own transport gives more flexibility to plan and execute such a trip. Otherwise you can take a volvo to Madikeri. There are many homestays in Coorg offering cheap and good accommodation

Wayanad is best option. its just 5 hrs from Bangalore and 3 hrs from mysore

B R Hills would be an excellent choice. Just a 4.5-hour drive from Bangalore, via Kollegal etc. Picteresque and pristine. I have spotted a leopard there sometime ago.

Hi,
You have got plenty of advice and choices so I wont go into the details. But there are a few tips.
1. Dates - You haven't mentioned when. I assume its the yearend. Choose the place early.

2. Places - Places like Coorg, Wayanad etc will have very few choices now. If you are planning the Ghats/Jungles, rule out Jungle Lodges - they get booked weeks in advance. Coorg has a lot of homestays. If you are heading north to Belur/Halebid or Hampi, then again book your acco fast.

3. Transport - I assume this is a family trip. You can either go by your own transport or by bus. Bangalore has a good bus network. If you are taking a conducted trip thru KSTDC then you dont have to worry. But buses to Kerala tend to be heavily booked. We had a horrible experience booking late to kerala. Forget trains, it'll be expensive even if its available.

There are many places in & around Bangalore which one could discover too.I like trekking/rock climbing orgnised by city based groups.

In the west: Coorg, Chickmangalur, Belur, Halebidu, etc.
In the south: Ooty, Wayanad, Yercaud
In the east: Mahabalipuram, Yelagiri Hills

the best way is to visit kstdc office situated opposite to corporation office which is well known to every one.plan a trip based on your requirement as this is more reasonable and you will have good company as most of the tours coducted by them are interesting.any how my suggestion is opt for a full bangalore tour one day and mysore tour for the second tour and belur halebid tour for the third day.
Regarding kstdc you can browse also .

You have not specified how you want to go about( 2wheeler 4wheeler, public transport). If you take a cab then you can cover Kukke, Dharmasthala, Sringeri, Horanadu Katil, Agumbe etc. and come back to Bangalore in three days time it will be a treat to watch the beautiful places during this time.

If you are planning to go to any resort this is not the time as every thing will be booked in advance.

You can cover Kanakapura belt, Mysore, Bandipur, and back to Bangalore.

It would have been better to mention your interest.
options:
Nature:
1. Chikmangalur - get on Kalsa or Bababuddangiri road and you will find few home stays. small treks in surrounding would be great option. (Pro trekking: Mullayngiri hill is good there)
2. Coorg - Irpu falls, Tadiyamdmole are the good location to visit.. again there are tons of homestays.

3. This season is good for some coastal tours:
Try Gokarna, Karwar places.. There is also one x-mas days tour done by my organization.. this might help you: http://bmcindia.org/events/aquasport-and-gokarna-beach-trek.html

From Bangalore you can visit mysore then drive to Nagarhole wildlife and further to Coorg. On way to coorg halt at kushalnagar you can visit an tibetan monestary, elephant camp. Also when you proceed further from coorg you can visit hampi, belur, chikmangalore -.
