Can any one tell me, how much should I pay for taxi from Chaaki Bank to dharamsala.
I am visiting Himachal pradesh in March (4th to 12th) and decided the following route.
Chaaki Bank > Dharamsala > Dalhousie > Khajiyar > Palampur> and back to Dalhousie and then Chaaki Bank.
Is this the right route?

I want to hire a taxi, preferably Innova from Gaggal to Palampur for one way travel. Can some one please give me the leads as to whom to contact, with their telephone numbers? Also what are the prevailing rates for various types of taxis (cars)?

Your planned route doesn’t seem logical. I would suggest - Dalhousie - Khajiyar - Dharmsala- Palampur - Chakki Bank. Chaaki Bank to dharamsala is about 160 kms stretch but it takes about 3 hrs to reach. Taxi will charge 1000 INR. Advisor travel.justluxe

If you are wary of travelling by car the other cheaper and comfortable option is the Kangra Valley Train that leaves Pathankot and goes up till Joginder Nagar, I believe it passes through Palampur and you may get down there. The only issue is it may take you 7- 8 hrs to reach Palampur. You may also get down at Kangra Madir Station and take a bus to Dharamsala, which is only half an hour's drive from Kangra Bus Stand. All the best.

Hello DT, I suggest you reconsider your route. Your present route is not logical. Ideally you should first go to Dalhousie - Khajiyar - Dharmsala- Palampur - Chakki Bank. Or take this one Palampur - Dharmasala - Dalhousie - Khajiar- Chakki Bank.

hi taxi charges from chakki bank to dharamshala are fixed by the taxi unions overthere. so dont worry about over charges charge by the taxi driver. In Himachal you will find all the taxi stands or taxis are operated under local taxi union.
