HEAVENLY TRIP TO LANSDOWNE
Our saturation point was on hype as we had not gone for any trip since a year due to various official assignments, and now it was high time so we wanted to go out of all hustle bustle, clatter and hectic schedule of Delhi. There was no point going to same old Mussoorie, shimla or Nainitaal and we wanted to go out some different place .so I made my husband to go on search spree of some different place ,after much hectic net browsing on various sites and other means he came up with idea of “Lansdowne” , It was much to my surprise as I have never heard of this place anytime before. I searched on various sites about details of the place and reviews of the people and it was sad to see very few people going to this place , whatever reviews I could collect were from ok tata bye bye and mouthshut. After searching about the details we found that there were hardly 3-4 good hotels as it was basically a Garhwal regiment area so construction was not allowed, and there were almost no places of interest to visit . All these points were enough to make me feel negative about the place and only convincing thing was the few reviews posted by people on oktata byebye.
Although I was bit reluctant about going to the place but my husband insisted on giving it a chance, so all bags packed we made our program with another couple friend on moving on Friday the 18th.of July.
As per the program we were supposed to leave at 6 am but those morning blues didn’t allowed us so and we were able to leave only at 8 am.
We took the route from noida to meerut byepass and those 2 hrs late in leaving made us face a huge jam in noida due to office hours , we were struk there for an hour as traffic was moving at a tortoise speed. Once crossing noida we were to go towards meerut byepass and by then mouses started tickling in our stomach, we were hungry by then , I had packed poori aloo matar sabzi which is a perfect menu for traveling but didn’t like having it at morning and then we came across a good place called “big bite “ before meerut at about 10 am The place was quite big with a good restaurant , conference halls , rooms and party halls. But we were least bothrerd by other things beside restaurant. restaurant had a good ambience and seemed to be quite hygienic , all this along with an elaborate veg menu heated up the hunger and we ordered a good breakfast including masala omellte , bread toast, tea , coffee and aloo paranthas , they all were good in taste and sufficed us for our next leg of journey. After leaving from big bite we took meerut byepass and headed towards bijnor , as we were 4 people and a small little cute girl of 6 months of our couple friends it was quite comfortable in Scorpio. Time passed by in enjoying ,listening music and taking small naps in between , We reached Bijnor at abt 12 pm and it was raining heavily there, I was wondering where is Lansdowne as I was not able to see any hills or any feeling of hill station , moving for another half an hour rain started pouring even more heavily , were confused as to how we will go on hills if downpour was like this .But I think God has decided to help us and then the hilly area started and the downpour also was lessen down by then. We were now on the route towards hills, and it was awesome the nature on the way was marvelous and it was greenry all around the hills were covered with greenry as someone has covered them with a blanket. There were small rivers on the way which added to the beauty enormously. As we were moving ahead there was a sudden jam we saw ahead of us and there were 4-5 cars in a queue, we were wondering as to what has happened and as slowly the jam was clearing we came to know that it was a landslide and we had to move slowly, this was the first time I saw a landslide and it was very scary as we were moving from that area of slide where big size stones has slided away from top on the roads due to rains and this has caused the roads which were already narrow to be more narrower, but we all just passed on safely. After an hours drive on hilly area we finally reached our destination Lansdowne and it was cloudy all over , we checked in 2 hotels out there and decided to stay in “ Blue Pines Resort “ as it was on main highway and its rooms were good and location was beautiful , though Blue Pines was 3 kms before the main city but it hardly made any difference because main city out there was a small market with few shops selling daily utility items. Market there was not that we expect at musoorie or shimla or any other place.
