When we became a member of Sterling Resorts I didnot think very deeply about my future travel plans. After getting the list of hotels we can stay in I decided on Yelagiri and Yercaud, both in the green hills of Tamil Nadu.

We got down at Salem and drove up a winding road with more than twenty hairpin turns to the hill top.

The Sterling Resorts at Yercaud occupies a steep hill slope( about 45 degrees) and overlooks a flat plain--magnificent! The walks through the forests that are slowly being devoured by greedy hoteliers are still enchanting and the view from the other end of the small mountain top town, is breathtaking to say the least. With granite crags jutting up from the nearby palins and the tiny farms at their base it is agreat view.

Another attraction of Yercaud is the roasted American sweet corn the street vendors hand out. These are really sweet, I mean  you can serve them as desserts! A visiotor to this fresh, green country is also offered Avocados, locally sold as 'Butter-fruits'.

The people are very friendly and the place as a weekend retreat is wonderful!

Hope you enjoyed reading my travelogue.
