A scenic drive through the lush green fields and curves by the side of the Yamuna will take you to Paonta Sahib from Dehradun. Paonta Sahib is a beautiful town on the banks of the Yamuna in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. Paonta Sahib is a holy Sikh shrine associated with Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th guru and founder of Khalsa Panth. Guru Gobind Singh is believed to have spent 4 years here. Gurudwara Paonta Sahib is dedicated to the guru. The Gurudwara also houses a museum which contains a lot of antiques and weapons used by Guru Gobind Singh during his stay.

An ideal getaway to de-stress and revive your city jaded soul, Paonta Sahib is a simple destination where you won’t have the luxury of staying in fancy hotels and indulging in shopping therapy! But for sure, you’ll have the place to yourself. Jump around; take long walks; sit at the Gurudwara Paonta Sahib or simply enroll for the community service at the gurudwara.

If that is not your cup of tea, there are many places around Paonta Sahib, which one can explore. Panota Sahib is also an industrial town with a number of industries.
