Hi Shome, Thank you for your enriching reply on the Tabo settlements. The terracing is indeed intriguing.. one more thing I wanted to know is how adaptive are Tabo settlers to modern technical knowhow on buildings. While working for the Tibentan Monastry near ISBT Delhi, realized that the Tibetans have very effective traditional methods to address their building technology. The Tibetans I worked with however were unfortunately not so adaptive to modern technology. LOL Sun.

Hi Shome, Lovely picts. Wish you cud enlighten me a bit more.. Unlike structures in the hills most of these structures [ many of them double storeyed] are flat. Further looks like these are mud-rubble-timber composites.. How do do guys take care of the rainfall/ moisture problems? Or is it that they don't have much rainfall in this area? Thanks in advance, Sun.
