...this very beautiful rest house is located at Khara Pathar which is at an altitude of 9000ft amsl in the Kotkhai division of Himachal Pradesh. I walked a good km uphill from the bazaar at Khara Pathar to reach the place..but didn''t regret the effort..the chowkidar at the rest-house made me tea and I spent close to an hour there with him, sitting in the lawn and soaking in the quietness of the place...

I love fog :) Pune, I've read has changed a lot (for the worse - ecologically) in the past few yrs... the urban sprawl is eating up into the surroundings...same as everywhere.. Tell me! when was this? ur visit to that beautiful place???

This walk of yours reminds me of my walk in Pune, in some place called S.garh (don't r'ber the exact name). After climbling uphill for kms, we land at a peak of 5,550 feet, and this point is the highest (probably) and windiest part of Pune. The wind here is so strong that its impossible to stand, normally, on two legs, so you need a support - either a hand or a tree. A hand will be preferred :) given the romantic setting - dense fog, wet grasslands, and the stilness :)
