Hotel sonar bangla at rishyap is situated in a good location with clear view of khanchenjunga peak. But the management and service of the hotel is worst and horrible. the rooms are good and well designed, but almost shabby. I with my family stayed from 29.09.2009(noon) to 30.09.2009(11-00am) at rishyap in this hotel. We reached at 12-30 noon. Prior to reaching, i talked to the manager over mobile phone and informed him about our lunch. Reaching the hotel, i ordered for our meal. But we got our food at 3-00 pm after calling the men again and again. I found no cook in this hotel. The man whom we saw washing the bathrooms, was also cooking food. I got nothing except rice and omelet. In the night, the worst kind of roti (which is simply not eatable) came at 10-30 pm during the darkness of load shedding. There is no generator in this hotel or there was no fuel for generator. I got a candle after much demand. In the midnight when i required for going to bathroom, i got no matches.
The rooms and location are good & satisfactory.
The service and food are horrible. The water collected from streamlet, mixed with rain water is supplied to the travelers without filtering. There is scarcity of water in this hotel. I do not get hot water in the morning. There are only 2 or 3 men working in this hotel. The manager is a liar who does not care for the travelers.
