I've visited ooty more than 7-8 times and have stayed in lake view not less than 6 times. Fabulous location, good amenities, great service and the most famous hotel in ooty. if you are ready to forget the rudeness of the front office staff and carry on with a happy holidaying this is a great place. the rooms are excellant/food is kinda ok priced but felt it was too less in quantity. the idea of independant cottages is the main attraction here. Been a favourtie choice every time the destination is ooty. cheers mn

The rooms, the hotel ambience, the location ,proximity to places of interest, service etc are all great.

I found on 3 occasion that the front office people were extremely dis courteous. Since i know this fact i dont care about it anymore when i go back to lake view. simple instances, was late by 35 mins to check out from the room and they had billed me for an extra day. On confrontation they reduced it to adding only the taxes. since i had the past experience of being there i managed to speak my way out by not paying anything extra. its the way that the staff puts across this news to you and argues which really ticks me off.

Overall nice and value for money. However the service levels and the responsiveness of staff left a lot to be desired. I did go there with clear idea that check-in time was 12 noon but the way they said that in the reception made me feel as though it was a choiceless situation where in they could have very well arranged a short tour through their travel desk instead of just bluntly saying "wait till 12". Customers like options not just close ended statments

Good scenic location. Auto fares to major parts of city and tourist attractions clearly displayed. Nicely furnished, clean rooms with hot water and absolutely spick-and-span bathrooms.

Staff not that well trained or well equipped to handle the kind of rush associated typically in summer with a hill resort like ooty. Very often room service was discouraged with statements like "it will take 45 minutes" and they openly mentioned in the room menu-card that room service was more expensive than walking to the restaurant and having it there and also the amount by which it was more expensive.

Value for money....Loads of space.....Privacy.

The fireplace, the car parking just outside the room, the suite chairs, dining table, privacy suites/cottage.

The fabrics were not new/clean. The towels were very old and looked dirty. The bed sheets/linen too were not very clean. There were too many house flies around and even inside the room.

It is a nice property...Good location. The day we landed...The management at the hotel seemed overwhelmed at the number of people who booked at the hotel. The restaurant was just not ready to cope with the number of people ordering. This changed dramatically the next day when we ordered some snacks the following evening. I personally liked the people giving service.
