Pwd rest house at khara pathar is like having an ultimate location. It is on the top of the mountain. There is nothing else on the mountain. Its a total wooden structure. Quite well maintained. Not like those resorts or giri ganga resort. But obviosly if you want to stay at khara pathar with all luxuries, then probably i need to "why goin there?"...Beautiful scenic view from the place. Big lawn. There are two guards there melaram and bhopender. They are the whole sole care-taker of it. Although you need to fax a request for booking in advance at the number given above. There are two normal rooms, one vip room and a small dormatary on first floor. They have a dining room. Food is actually not served but you can request the guard and he can cook well. He charges decent for it.
room charges-250/- rs per room (24 hrs). Amazing place to stay...No doubts.
