Hotel ambience, maintainance is good, very neat and clean, however, being govt. Employees they have attitude and some of the employees are not polite and co-operative. Otherwise, its a very nice experience being there.

Comfortable,nice views,clean, well maintained and nicely decorated
No room service in huts,staff is not much co-operative

This is the maharaja of patiala's palace turned hotel and now being run by the himachal tourism dev. Corp. And consiered as one of it's premier properties.. we took a deluxe double room for 3500 bucks a night..Phew..Just to get the feel of living and dining in a palace :) the palace has beautiful lawns which tourists pay 100bucks per head just to visit in the day time...In the evening when the tourists have left we had the place to our won..Oh..What a place..There was an in-house restaurant which was good for the cuisine but didn't face the garden and was kind of locked in the palace..

The location. Well since it was a palace the location had to be superb..With everything evolving around it... the lawns were a great place to spend the evenings.. Our room wasn't that great but they had bigger better rooms suites for a taking..But ofcourse at a higher price :) the cutlery at the restaurant was in keeping with standards...
Our room wasn't anything great... but atleast allowed us to be a part of the palace for a night :) they must have introduced video games fr kids a some point in time..But the whole thing was lying as junk and occupying a corner of the palace...What an eyesore..And completely out of place with the feel of the place
