Details

The hotel is not in kumarakom, it is 20 minutes away in some desolate place which can't be reached without pinpointed directions. We had big trouble reaching there with just a single line address. The resort brings a masseur from outside who is fine and charged us rs.600 for a simple massage.

	The staff are very friendly and attentive which is a plus. But it is indeed very calm and quiet and far away from the madding crowd. So if you are just looking for a silent place to kill time by eating and sleeping, your budget is limited and you can put up with mediocre food for 3 days, then i would suggest this. Oh and they have a good decent library with a good collection of fiction.

	The food is just bearable and the next time i would give it a miss gladly. But the rooms still have to gear up. The water clogs in the bathrooms often. When we checked in, there was no tv and despite having booked and paid for an extra bed, we did not get a blanket for the first night because of non-availability.

Details

The hotel back water retreat is not a hotel but more of a home stay. It is situated at aimanam which is 15 km away from kumarakom and not exactly situated at kumarakom. Hence advertising the same as a resort situated in the backwaters of kumarakom is sligh
