Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, is a hill located in the Chamarajnagar District of the state of Karnataka, India. It lies in the core area of the Bandipur National Park and is frequented by wild life including Elephants. It gets its name from the Himavad Gopalaswamy Temple located on the top of the hill. Himavad means filled with fog in the native language of Kannada. Our trip to the location included the Temple Visit, Elephant herd sighting, Scenic views and a lot of fog. The lush green carpet of grass around the temple and covering the hill is a sight that would bring relaxation to all. The climate is cool and breezy during the periods just after the Monsoons with occasional drizzle. The serence beauty of the place brings great joy to an individuals mind.
