Chopta is an offbeat tourist destination suitable for trekking enthusiasts. It can be reached by car from Rishikesh in 8-9 hours via Rudraprayag and Okhimath. It is famous for alpine forest landscape, beautiful himalayan meadows with lush green landscapes and is surrounded by snow-clad mountains. We went there in May, 2005 and the trip could be completed within 3-4 days from Delhi and our expenses were around Rs. 1400/- per head for the entire trip which included Tungnath and Deoria Tal.
