Tungnath is one of the five Kedars and is claimed to be the highest Shiva Temple of the world. It is a three and a half Km trek from Chopta through beautiful meadows and forests on a mule track. Although the road is steep and you need to be physically fit to go there. The scenic beauty is fantastic. Chandrashila is one Km further from Tungnath and is a beatiful mountain summit from where most of the snowclad mountains of Himalaya are visible in a breathtaking panoramic view. But you have to reach early in the morning to get a clear sky. Deoria Tal is another picturesque spot near Chopta. Sari village is approximately 4 Km from chopta by car. Deoria Tal is a 3.5 Km Trek from Sari. Sari village has been awarded numerous times as the most eco-conscious village of India, and the village people are very friendly and peaceful. Deoria Tal is a small lake in a beautiful scenario, surrounded by snow-capped hills on one side. The reflection of the snow peaks on the water of the lake creates a heavenly atmosphere.
