There is story... Once the statue was built,the 1st Mahamastakabhishek was announced.Many people from all walks of life and from various places came to visit the place.Whenever they put water on the statue,it didnt use to fall till the foot.It used to vanish at the knees. All were confused.The king was too perturbed by this.Then an old woman came and did Abhishek.And finally her water came down till the foot. It was like only that person would be able to do Abhishek who is pure from heart and really love God.
