Gopalaswamy Betta, (also called Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta) is situated at about 90 kilometers far from Mysore. One can learn what it is to 'walk in the clouds' in this place. Visibility is hardly 2 meters most of the time and you're sure to stray out of the way you intended to walk. If your friend walks a little too faster than you by ten steps, chances are that you wouldn't be able to see him. Thick clouds seeparates you from him.
The drive up the hill is something you should watch out for. The road is steep. Steeper than the steepest steep you've ever climbed. Yeah. It takes quite some effort to get to the top. Make sure your vehicles has good brakes.
Keep an eye on the road side for there is bound to be cattle crossing your way. And its not ten or twenty. At once, there would be a minimum of 50 cows. Something you should be aware of.
Make sure you have good headlights before you start, you'll need to use them quite a lot once you've reached the place.
This area is very close to the Bandipur National Reserve and elephants are quite a common sight here.
I guess, this introduction is getting longer and longer, so, let me stop and you have a good trip! ;)
