The chances are not many travellers may have heard of Sherpur. This non-descript village on the outskirts of the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is not difficult to miss. In fact, a number of tourists just pass the village without actually noticing it. Sherpur in the recent times has made its entry into the art and craft scene of the country.
Sherpur is not too far from Sawai Madhopur railway station and probably not more than half an hour’s drive from the entrance of the park. Though there is not much to see in the village, one can for sure get a glimpse of the rustic life of the village folks. The Dastakar Kendra or Dastakar as it is generally called is the main draw in Sherpur.
