Khirshu is small and relatively not very well known hill station in Uttarakhand. Khirsu is located at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level and is about 20 km from Pauri. Since not many travellers are aware of this hill station yet, it is quiet and beautiful, just right for a relaxing holiday. Khirsu offers spectacular views of the Himalayas.
There are not many things to do in Khirsu. The best you can to do is to spread a picnic mat at the nearby park (not too far from GMVN guesthouse), which is well landscaped and offers lovely views. One can also trek to nearby villages or to the jungle with a local guide. If trekking does not appeal you, just take a few good books along to enjoy your stay at Khirsu.
There are not many places to stay in Khirsu. There are two properties of GMVN, which one can stay at. If you are travelling with senior citizens, avoid staying at huts for which one may have to use stairs (30 steps to be precise), which may be difficult for an aged person.
