Sight seeing and Things to do in
Kanha National Park
The Kanha National Park is an excellent place for wildlife viewing and photography, especially for the nature lovers. The park is more famous for its wildlife, but its landscape is just as fascinating. Forest Department guides accompany visitors around the park on mapped-out circuits which enable viewers to see a good cross-section of Kanha's wildlife. The best areas are the meadows around Kanha, where blackbuck, chital and barasingha can be seen throughout the day. The park is the only habitat of the rare hardground Barasingha (Cervus Duvaceli Branderi).
A heightened attraction within the Park is Bamni Dadar, popularly known as Sunset Point that offers the most awe-inspiring backdrop of the sunset against grazing Sambhars and Gaurs, magnifying the natural splendor of the area. Apart from the many species of animals that contribute to the wealth of fauna of this jungled beauty, one can also notice a wide variety of exotic birds here. Thus, the place is indeed an ornithological wonder and a paradise for all bird watchers. Besides its diverse wildlife and bird population, the frequent sightings of Tigers roaming in the wild at Kanha National Park remain the most popular draw.
