Pataudi, founded by Rajput ruler Pata, is a small village in Haryana at a distance of 60 km from Delhi. Pataudi Palace built by Nawab Ibrahim Ali Khan and designed by Heinz in 1935 is a reminder of the old Raj days with a real royal splendor fragrance to it.
It is today home of the cricket legend Nawab Mansur Ali Khan – better known as Tiger, his wife veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and their actor son Saif Ali Khan.
Pataudi Palace covering an area of 25 acres is now converted into a heritage hotel which is high on the glamour quotient with its luxurious sprawling gardens, old-style spacious rooms. The atmosphere makes one feel like a royal guest at this wonderful palace. One can also visit the Pataudi place for a day trip and enjoy a scrumptious lunch buffet for Rs. 750/-.
