The city of Cuttack is a thousand years old. No wonder the locals proudly refer to their city as the Millennium City. Cuttack has had a long history of being a center of culture and political power. Before the capital of Orissa was shifted to Bhubaneswar in 1948, the city of Cuttack was the pre-eminent center of Oriya culture and arts. Today the city proudly displays its heritage to its many visitors and is called the ‘Twin City’ of Bhubaneswar.
