Tajpur: Incredibly “ A beach for yourself”. In fact, one may get a feeling of ‘owning’ the beach. Tajpur is one of the most secluded beaches in India. Tajpur beach lies in the Purba Medinipur district of South Bengal, one of the southern districts of West Bengal. It is almost 180 Km from Kolkata. It lies on the Kolkata - Digha route and just 5 Km from Chaulkhola. Tajpur is one of Bengal’s recently discovered tourist destination that lies close to ever-popular Digha and Shankarpur. This beach is slowly becoming popular among the tourists, although the beach here is usually exposed only when the tide ebbs. The casuarina trees, kissed by the gentle breeze at Tajpur are a soothing sight.

Advice from travelers on what to do in Tajpur

Tajpur Beach Resort really a good family resort at Tajpur. The location-rooms-service-Behaviour-Sincerity-Responsibility is fantastic. The overall environment & ambience of the resort is excellent. Rooms are clean & service is nice. Food is unbelievable & superb with the fresh vegetables from their kitchen garden. A watch tower is waiting for any tourist to take a fresh breath & relaxation. Owner is very much tourist friendly & always take care to child. Bamboo swing, Bamboo dining table, Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Bow & Arrow, Gun Shooting for outdoor games & Ludo,Chinese checker and many more indoor & outdoor games are their. Extra facilities are Internet surfing provided by them. During the whole holiday trip ones can refresh physically & mentally. Please go Tajpur Beach Resort for your weekend holiday trip without hesitation.

Just got back from Tajpur Nature Camp on January 2011. Tajpur Nature Camp is the worst(est) of my experience. This is a place one should stay miles away from. There is no value for money, the food is fly covered adequately, the cots are creaky, the bathroom is not well made. Oh yes and the genrator, as someone else mentioned in a previous review, they turn it on at their own convenience, voltage is too low. There is no maintenance. The food is awful and not worth tasting. Saying the prices are EXORBIDANT is an understatement. Unfortunately we were trapped to going there through a contact of my friend and I feel ashamed to say that I feel betrayed and have lost trust on anybody. The behavior of the staff is atrocious. There is no professionalism, they are rude as if they are doing us a favor by us having gone there. There is much more to write. To be precise RUN AWAY.

Totally agree with Sumit, same experience here regarding the resort stuffs, they are taking the undue advantage of being the only resort of tazpur, but apart of that the place is so nice away from any noise and virginity is still there in that beach .the place is really cool and some rare seen birds are there and very good place for nature photography.

TAJPUR "NATURE CAMP" RESORT has the worst possible service, has worthless food and is run by people who do not know how to behave with the tourists. They do not understand that tourists are the source of their business and inflow of money. We went to stay at "NATURE CAMP" came back disstatisfied and disgusted. The hotel has nil maintenance and as presently no good hotels are ready, they seem to think that they run the monopoly business.

Sumit Banerjee on 24 May 2010

As a new spot, tajpur is good. But the infrastructure is not at all adequate to stay. The only place where one can stay is "NATURE CAMP" RESORT, which is not at all up to the mark to have a cosy holiday. The people at "NATURE CAMP" are not professionally tuned to cater to tourists and the behaviour of the staff are such which can not compare even to a most ordinary hotel. Food is worthless and below standard. Service is most lousy and more importantly the maintenance of the rooms is very very poor. Unless and untill the infrastructure (good hotels are not yet ready) of the area are developed, it's not worth to go to tajpur.

During this busy schedules of life, Tajpur ia a place where you can breath your life. The newly found place situated 180 KM from Kolkata where you can find the beauty of Sea. Very suitable place for weekend travels. In Tajpur you can stay at Tajpur Nature Camp. The hotel that gives you a comfortable stay with some great options of fooding. Very well maintained, clean and spacious rooms available here. Prompt Room service made this hotel first choice of Tajpur.

Please dont go to Tajpur for god`s sake. There is no amenity facilities and there is no hotel worth staying operators and agents in kolkata will give inflated and exaggerated details of Tajpur Nature camp but never go there. The mud road is awful the tent they provide is full of deadly insects. We went with ace consortium (who are travel agent near ekdalia evergreen)which charged us 650 rupees for each tent after reaching there we found it out to be a village with few concrete rooms and a tent. The sea beach is some 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel and is awfully dirty smeared with burnt out ash of human remains and wood. Most importantly you shall not get anything important to buy there like beverages food etc. If you go there please pre arrange and get the same collected before reaching there. Shankarpur and mandarmani is far better a place to go.I would rather request people to go to mandarmani than to to tajpur. There is no electricity and only source ofpower is generator driven electricity. Please dont go to tajpur
