Kochi is a small town located on the coast of Kerela. However, the name is now used for a whole region and also includes Ernakulam, Mattanchery and Fort Kochi. Sight-seeing in Kochi is, therefore, centered around these areas.

Red-painted city buses link the various neighborhoods of Kochi together. You can also hire private taxis and autos, though it is advisable to bargain hard and fix the fare beforehand.
Once in Kochi, you also have the option of taking a ferry ride. They are the only way to visit the various islands in the area. Even if you are travelling to a land-linked area, taking a ferry can prove to be a quicker way to get around.
