Sight seeing and Things to do in Kodaikanal

Last Updated: 05 Mar 2009 6 Contributors

This is a pretty cold hill station, small but golden destination for environment lovers. A wonderful display of foggy view from top of the hill in the morning is the treat to watch. Mostly covered with hills with roadway around it. A small town in the middle and jungle, lakes to drill into.

at Kodaikanal

Berijam lake is currently out of bounds unless you get Forest Dept. permission from the Ch. Conservator at Chennai. Gundar Reservoir is a good outing just beyond the observatory. The best season is between Jan and April before the rush starts, cold but it is fresh, clean and crisp air and no crowds . The walk from TV tower to Dolphins Nose via Pambar shola, falls and Vattakanal is a must do.

# Boating on the lake. # Cycling around the lake. # Visit the forest and water reservior (Kaveri). # Shop in the small town with shopkeeper from difference places of India. # Horse/Pony riding. # Bonfire in the resort.

# Go cycling around the lakes, pony rides too are another option. # Boating at the Kodai Lake. # Trekking - Kodai offers several scenic trekking spots and you will be amazed at the number of trekking options they have. My recommendation however is the 10km trek to dolphin nose, which is the most popular and not very tiring. # Feel like playing a little Golf, then the 18-hole Kodaikanal Golf Club is just the place for you.
