The services are very basic as per the prices. Berijam lake is currently out of bounds unless you get Forest Dept. permission from the Ch. Conservator at Chennai. Gundar Reservoir is a good outing just beyond the observatory. The best season is between Jan and April before the rush starts, cold but it is fresh, clean and crisp air and no crowds . The walk from TV tower to Dolphins Nose via Pambar shola, falls and Vattakanal is a must do.
