Kasauli is one of the small towns developed by the British during the 'hey day' of the empire. Kasauli is a quaint little town that seems to exist in a time wrap of an era that reminds one of the British Raj. It is located close to Dharampur, approximately 12 km on NH22 (Kalka- Shimla highway). Its colonial ambience is reinforced by cobbled paths, quaint shops, gabled houses with charming facades and scores of neat little gardens and orchards. Mixed forests of chir-pine, Himalayan oak and huge horse chestnuts surround Kasauli. Its narrow road slithers up and down the hillsides and offer some magnificent vistas.

Kasauli is a popular hill-station in Himachal Pradesh. Yes, Himachal, known as the land of gods and goddess, and Kasauli is as beautiful as heaven.

Kasauli is for the people, who like and enjoy serene surroundings. A small trek to the sunset point makes this place more lovable. The taste of the local cuisine is breath-taking. Kasauli is cantonment town and hence you may also find many jawans (soldiers) busy in their daily schedule.

Kasauli has two Mall roads, namely the Upper Mall & the Lower Mall. The Upper Mall has very few and limited shops, while the Lower Mall has many shops with variable varieties. The architecture of the British-era building is impressive. Since Kasauli has large Army presence, new construction is not allowed, which eventually has saved Kasauli from becoming another concrete jungle.

Not many hotels are available in Kasauli. So, it is better to book a room in Kasauli before you go. Even in off season and especially during the weekends, it is difficult to find decent accommodation in Kasauli.

Kasauli being a small and quite town on the way from Chandigarh / kalka to Shimla when u travel by road. There is nothing specific in kasauli u can visit sunset / sunrise points at lower mall and upper mall resp. U can visit monkey point which needs a permission from Air Force authority since it is located in their campus. Those who enjoy nature and silence will certainly like this place But after sunset what to do in these cold and dark evenings there is limited choice of hotels / restaurants but u can visit Kasauli Regency Hotel for a wonderful evening At the rooftop there is a bar / restaurant U will find Sanju a young boy @ 24 years old Playing Guitar and like to sing/ play your favourate songs He will make you to sing and clap with him Hotel Owners rajesh and Priti may join u and suggest u a good drink / food and of course sing with u .
