Unspoilt, unexplored and in stark contrast to the urban jungle that Mussoorie has become, Dhanaulti is as close to nature as can be. Rows of rhododendrons, vast green meadows and a gentle cool breeze greets you about 30 km from Mussoorie. It can be a day trip or better still overnight sojourn at this beautiful country side. Treks, pony rides along fruit orchards and water streams appearing from nowhere can keep you busy as there is no mall for shopping or videogames. Hotels are few but have all the facilities including hot water and cable TV for those who care. Dhanaulti also provides excellent views of the snow capped Himalayan ranges. You can go directly to Dhanaulti by taking a right turn about 8 km before reaching Mussoorie and then doing another 30 km or so on a 'not so bad' road.
