From Dhanaulti one can take a day trip to Surkanda Devi about 10 km away. One has to trek for about 1.5 km to a height of about 10,000 feet (3000m) to reach a very revered religious place for the locals, dedicated to Goddess Parvati, as it is believed her head fell here after she became a sati. The place also provides a 180 degree view of the mountain ranges from the top. The view from top is breathtaking as well as mesmerizing. Horses are also available to go up and down. Another interesting place is potato farms. It is just 1 km from the main market. From here, you can have a look at the Doon valley. The sight is absolutely amazing as well as refreshing.
