Tadoba National Park is the oldest national park in Maharashtra. It is also a Project Tiger Reserve.

It is about 45 km. north of the industrial town of Chandrapur.

Best season to spot the animals is summer - February to June.
Jungle safaris are arranged by the Park authorities.

Tadoba is famous for its 'Gaur' or wild ox and crocodiles. As its main carnivore, the park supports tigers, leopards, sloth bears, 'Doles' or wild dogs and hyenas. Other animals that are commonly seen are the 'Nilgai', 'Sambar', spotted deer or 'Cheetal', wild boar, mongoose, civet cat and langurs.

Jungle Safaris - Guides are compulsory for every vehicle that enters the reserve.
Relax by the Tadoba Lake. Do not venture into the lake though. It has crocs.

If you intend to stay for a few days in the park itself, then you can book the forest rest houses or youth hostels available inside the park. There is no mobile connectivity inside the reserve. And the power supply is erratic.

Or you could put up base at Chandrapur if you need more amenities. BUt then you would have to drive around 45 kms to reach Chandrapur.

If you are staying inside the reserve, then the choice of food is limited. But who cares when your main interest is to stay in the wild. You do get decent meals though - Roti, sabzi, dal and chawal.
