For a holiday with difference, where there are no must visit places to see, where you are one with nature, where scenic beauty is your constant companion and where you follow your own schedule. Tirthan Valley is one such hidden gem in Himachal Pradesh. Well known for its scenic vistas and exciting opportunities in trout fishing, Tirthan Valley makes for an exciting holiday experience.

Tirthan Valley

Tirthan valley is situated in Himachal Pradesh and is the base for many fishing and adventure camps. The valley gets its name from the Tirthan River that abounds in trout. One of the interesting places to make your base in the Tirthan Valley is the Himalayan Trout House, situated in Nagini Village. The place is a kind of social center that provides a friendly space for locals and visiting fishermen, campers, trekkers, and other holiday makers to meet each other, exchange travel stories, read, share bonfires, listen to music and play games.

The Trout House functions like a modern clubhouse full of cheer and action. There are lots of things to do and enjoy. It has a modern kitchen with freezers, tandoor, burners, oven and grill that provides meals all through the day serving many of the delicacies available. The highpoint of the menu is, of course the fresh wild trout from the river below accompanied by fresh salads, vegetables and herbs from a nearby bio garden and seasonal fruit from the local orchards.

Cycling in Tirthan

The club offers a host of facilities both for adults and children. There is a choice of literature, a fish tackle and tuck shop, some musical instruments, children's play area, relaxation areas, fishing rods and reels, mountain cycles, trekking and climbing equipment, dartboards, shooting and archery range, astronomical and terrestrial telescope and binoculars, art materials and a potters wheel, various kites, indoor board games for rainy days and a collection of balls.
The Trout House offers accommodation to suit all pockets. There are three pine panelled deluxe rooms with attached toilets and baths in the main house, 2 large furnished 14' by 14' Swiss Cottage tents for families and other teams. Members may even pitch their own tents in an available space.

The Trout house remains open to visitors throughout the year.
