Varanasi

There are more than 100 ghats along side the Ganga in Varanasi. For thousands of years people have been thronging these Ghats to offer their morning prayers to the rising sun. Just like its rich culture and lifestyle, Varanasi is equally famous for its rich textile and food. The magnificent sarees, the hand-woven carpets & handicrafts suggests how skillful the small scale cottage industry of Benaras is.

Beyond temples & ghats, the city has more in store. The narrow by-lanes, the bustling crowd at the markets and the buzz in the many small shops leave one mesmerized. The common mode of transportation here is either manual rickshaw or auto-rickshaw which reminds of the age-old civilization. The temples, the moments, the archeological museums, the ghats – every little thing takes back one to the bygone era. The days fly by and what one carries back home is the memory of a lifetime!
