Isn't it paradoxical that when many city denizens make a beeline for holiday destinations away from Delhi, there is another tribe that looks forward to the big night in the city. If you are one of those who wish to witness how a big metropolitan city ushers in a New Year then welcome to Delhi.

A number of hotels in Delhi line-up major shows by celebrities and offer enticing packages to woo the customers. There are clubs and bars that one can hop from area to area. Check out Kapitol @ Ashoka Hotel, Urban Pind at GK-1 N Block Market, Tabula Rasa in Saket, Dublin @ Maurya Sheraton Hotel and Ministry of Sound in Vasant Kunj. Ivy in New Friends Colony and The Kylin Experience in Vasant Vihar are other fun places you may add to your list for New Year hangouts.

Good to Know
Temperature 4- 15 °C
Clothing Light woolen and comfortable cotton wear
Shopping Chandani Chowk, Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojni Nagar

Essentially a party spot and a place which goes out of control on 31st December every year, Delhi provides options to let your head down and welcome the New Year in style. The most common venue is the India Gate, where many gather when then clock strikes 12 and there is quite a frenzy soon after. You may join the crowd, opt for a cup of ice cream and dance your way into the New Year.

Things to do

- Monument Hopping
- Check out Craft Mela @   Dilli Haat
- Take a Metro ride
- Must visit Akshardham   Temple
- Explore Garden of Five   Senses
- Eat out in Old Delhi

There are quite a few options in and around Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi. You may head to Agni at Park Hotel or hop to Glo at Metropolitan Hotel near Bangla Sahib or check out Aura at The Claridges. Q’BA at E-Block, Inner Circle is another nice place for a round of drink and fun.

The party scene outside the city limits remains quite hip. Elevate in Noida and Ananya in Ghaziabad are well known. Club Saffire in Gurgaon is another popular party haunt in this satellite city of Delhi. Istanblu, the Turkish lounge in Gurgaon is another must visit place worth checking out.
